    91pts Wine Spectator
"Plump, soft and friendly in feel, with lightly steeped red and black cherry and raspberry fruit laced with touches of sandalwood and wood spice. A light twinge of briar on the finish adds nice energy. Best from 2026 through 2031. 10,600 cases made." - James Molesworth

    Terroir
Sourced from hillside vineyards in Anderson Valley, this Pinot Noir reflects a cool-climate region shaped by steady Pacific winds. The vineyards sit on cobbled clay loam and rocky soils, with southern exposures that allow for slow, even ripening. These rugged conditions yield fruit with both concentration and natural acidity, resulting in a wine that balances richness with lift and precision.

    Winemaking & Technical Notes
Crafted from 100% Pinot Noir, the wine is fermented in small lots with the inclusion of roasted stems, adding structure and aromatic complexity. Aging in French oak (a portion new) enhances texture and integrates subtle spice without overpowering the fruit. The approach emphasizes both depth and elegance, highlighting the character of Anderson Valley fruit.

    Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in color, the 2023 opens with aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, and briary fruit layered with earthy and floral notes. The palate is smooth and silky, offering concentrated red and dark fruit with hints of spice, licorice, clove, and black tea. Plush tannins and vibrant acidity carry through to a long, savory finish with impressive depth.

    Food Pairing & Service
A versatile Pinot Noir, this wine pairs beautifully with roasted chicken, duck, grilled salmon, and mushroom-based dishes. It also complements herb-driven cuisine and soft cheeses. Serve slightly below room temperature, and consider a brief decant to allow its aromatics to fully open.

    Cellaring Potential
Approachable in its youth yet structured enough to age, this wine will evolve over the next 6–10 years. With time, its fruit will deepen into more savory, earthy complexity while maintaining its balance and silky texture.
