  • Product Info

The 2023 Vicari "Dasempre del Pozzo Buono" Lacrima di Morro d'Alba DOC is an incredibly aromatic, pure expression of the rare, indigenous Lacrima grape. Crafted by the brother-and-sister team of Nazzareno (Vico) and Valentina Vicari in the Marche region of Italy, this wine is a masterclass in the grape's uniquely flamboyant, highly floral personality.

    Tasting Notes

    • Aroma: Highly perfume-driven and expressive, the nose exudes an intense bouquet of violets and wild strawberries, interwoven with subtle hints of rose petal and black pepper. As it opens, deeper nuances of ripe dark bramble, lavender, and damp forest floor emerge.
    • Palate: The palate reveals a medium-bodied structure with a silky texture and a refreshing acidity that beautifully enhances its floral and red fruit profile. It bursts with flavors of crunchy black cherries, pomegranate, and red berries, striking an effortless balance between its fruit intensity and innate freshness.
    • Finish: Dry, persistent, and remarkably clean. It concludes with finely grained, velvety tannins that provide a gentle grip, punctuated by a touch of savory earthiness that underscores its Marche terroir.
    Technical & Vinification Details

    • Viticulture: 100% Lacrima di Morro d'Alba harvested by hand from the family's estate vineyards in Morro d'Alba. The local soils and sunny rolling hills near the Adriatic coast provide an ideal canvas for the grape's thin, delicate skins.
    • Vinification: The hand-picked grapes undergo controlled temperature fermentation to lock in the highly volatile, delicate floral compounds. Skin maceration provides the wine with its signature, deep ruby-red hue with striking violet reflections.
    • Aging: Aged strictly in stainless steel tanks. This completely blocks out any wood or oak influence, keeping the focus entirely on raw varietal purity, crisp mineral definition, and immediate drinkability. It clocks in at roughly 13.5% ABV.
    Service & Food Pairings

    • Serving Tips: Best served at a slightly cool cellar temperature (16–18°C / 60–64°F). This is an incredibly fun, vibrant wine that can easily be enjoyed on its own as an aromatic aperitif or "happy hour" companion.
    • Food Pairings: The natural acidity and unique perfume make it a spectacular match for local Marche regional specialties and highly aromatic dishes:
      • Coniglio in Porchetta (savory roast rabbit stuffed with wild fennel and garlic).
      • Cured meats, particularly local spreadable salamis like Ciauscolo.
      • Rich pasta dishes featuring savory meat ragù or wild mushroom sauces.
