The 2022 Trediberri Barolo del Comune di La Morra DOCG is a stunningly fresh, elegant, and highly aromatically driven 100% Nebbiolo crafted by Nicola Oberto and his family. Facing a historically hot, dry, and low-yielding 2022 vintage across Piedmont, Trediberri decided to skip releasing individual single-vineyard crus. Instead, they blended all of their premier plots together into a single, masterfully executed village-level bottling designed for remarkable purity and youthful accessibility.

    Tasting Notes

    • Aroma: Exceedingly perfumed, bright, and lifted, the nose displays elegant aromas of iris, violet, framboise, and Morello cherry, coupled with nuances of sun-warmed hay and a gentle whiff of leather. Deep aeration introduces details of cranberry, citrus zest, and wild brushwood.
    • Palate: The palate is medium-bodied and beautifully balanced, highlighting an ethereal, savory texture that showcases impressive mid-palate depth. Flavors of red currant, pomegranate, and juicy mandarin orange layer seamlessly over a vibrant matrix of nutmeg, star anise, and fresh rosemary.
    • Finish: Long, harmonious, and driven by a brilliant line of snappy natural acidity. It concludes with a chiseled frame of velvety, finely chiseled tannins and a clean, stony-earth mineral edge.
    Technical & Vinification Details

    • Vineyard Matrix: A masterful blend composed of approximately 82% Berri (a high-altitude, late-ripening plot on the extreme western border of La Morra) and 18% Rocche dell'Annunziata (one of the most celebrated crus in the entire region).
    • Winemaking: The grapes undergo a controlled alcoholic fermentation in concrete tanks lasting 12 to 14 days, followed by a post-fermentation maceration. Total skin-to-juice contact spans roughly three weeks.
    • Maturation: The wine is aged carefully for 21 months in traditional, large Slavonian oak casks (botti), followed by a brief resting period in concrete before bottling to guarantee structural stability without masking the pure varietal fruit under heavy wood overlay. Alcohol rests at 14.5% ABV.
    Service & Food Pairings

    • Serving Tips: Serve at a cool cellar temperature (16–18°C / 60–65°F). Decanting for 45 to 60 minutes helps unlock the intricate floral and baking spice layers.
    • Food Pairings: Crafted with a "weightless" power and high drinkability, it is a magnificent pairing companion for traditional Piedmontese fare and savory roasted meats:
      • Braised short ribs or slow-roasted leg of lamb with wild rosemary.
      • Rich tajarin pasta with fresh shaved white truffles or a savory wild boar ragù.
      • Hearty mushroom-based dishes, venison tartare, or aged Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.
