Suertes del Marqués Trenzado Parajes del Oeste is a highly acclaimed, low-intervention white wine from Tenerife’s Valle de la Orotava in the Canary Islands. It is primarily a blend of Listán Blanco (often 90% or more) and other indigenous white varieties, sourced from 10 to 150-year-old, ungrafted vines grown in nutrient-rich volcanic soils. 

Tasting Notes: Expect a vibrant, bone-dry profile with an expressive nose of citrus peel, lemon, orchard fruits, and delicate white flowers. It features a pronounced maritime, salty, and stony minerality with a subtle smoky touch, culminating in a fresh, lingering, and lip-smacking finish.

Winemaking: The grapes are fermented with native yeasts in a mix of concrete vats and traditional French oak barrels. The wine then ages on its lees for 8 to 10 months, providing a rich, creamy texture that perfectly balances its natural salinity.

Climate & Terroir: The vineyards are located at an elevation of 400 to 700 meters. Influenced by cool Atlantic ocean breezes and protective cloud cover, the area is 15–20 degrees cooler than the south of the island, resulting in wines with vibrant, razor-sharp acidity and distinct volcanic minerality.

Viticulture & Yields: The wine gets its name from cordón trenzado (braided cord), a traditional, ancient training system unique to the region where multiple vine shoots are intertwined, allowing them to stretch up to 15 meters across the steep, volcanic hillsides.
