Product Info
The 2023 Domaine Petit-Roy Côte de Beaune "Les Monsnières" is a delicate, precise, and finely detailed white Burgundy. Sourced from a tiny 0.22-hectare plot of organic Chardonnay on a cool, highly calcareous clay and limestone southwest-facing slope near Meursault, winemaker Seiichi Saito delivers depth and character without relying on heavy alcohol or demonstrative oak.Tasting Profile- Appearance: Luminous, pale gold with subtle, youthful green reflections
- Aroma: A quietly expressive nose featuring lemon oil, white peach, crisp orchard pear, and fresh almond, accented by citrus zest, white flowers, and a faint hint of hazelnut or brioche as it opens.
- Palate: Taut, precise, and finely textured. It marries ripe white fruits with bright, focused acidity and a distinctly stony, saline, and chalky mineral backbone that gives the wine excellent structural tension.
- Finish: Long, clean, and elegant, carrying through with a clear sense of place and mineral persistence.
Winemaking DetailsThe vinification follows a classic Seiichi Saito approach: seven months in stainless steel, followed by 12 months in old barrels. The wine is left unfiltered and unfined, receiving only a minimal touch of sulfur before bottling. The brief period in stainless steel prior to bottling helps tighten its structure without rounding off its energy.Serving & Pairing- Service: Do not serve over-chilled; let it sit around 8–10°C (46–50°F) and give it a bit of air to let the aromatic layers unfold.
- Pairing: Perfect with fish in sauce or poultry with mushrooms. It also pairs well with pork or grilled summer vegetables
