The 2024 Guillaume Lafon Pernand-Vergelesses Blanc is a chiseled, bright, and intensely focused white Burgundy. Sourced from the high-altitude parcel of Le Devant des Cloux, this southeast-facing vineyard produces one of the latest-ripening Chardonnays in the portfolio.The notoriously difficult, rain-heavy 2024 vintage required tireless vineyard work, but the excellent natural drainage of this elevated site preserved beautiful grape health. Handled by Guillaume Lafon (the personal label project of legendary Meursault winemaker Dominique Lafon and his son Guillaume), the wine leverages altitude to present stunning cool-climate energy, citrus freshness, and deep terroir clarity.Tasting Profile- Appearance: Pale yellow-gold with bright crystalline flashes.
- Aroma: Intensely mineral and fresh. The nose opens with aromas of lime zest, green apple, white peach, and orange blossom, closely trailed by wet stone, crushed flint, and a light touch of smoky reduction.
- Palate: Piercingly linear, precise, and taut. It pairs classic southern Beaune weight with the racy, mineral-driven acidity characteristic of Pernand's high-elevation slopes. Layers of crisp orchard fruit and lemon oil take center stage without any heavy, buttery masking.
- Finish: Very clean, mouth-watering, and persistent, closing on a heavily saline, chalky, and flint-driven mineral spine.
Winemaking & ServingThe vinification focuses on purity and minimal intervention, utilizing native barrel fermentation followed by extended lees aging.- Service: Serve at 10–12°C with brief aeration.
