Product Info
The 2024 Guillaume Lafon Meursault is a stunningly pure, energetic, and multi-dimensional white Burgundy. The 2024 vintage marks a significant milestone as Guillaume Lafon officially takes over the label from his legendary father, Dominique Lafon. True to the philosophy of the project, the cellar rules remain delightfully minimal, letting the true nature of the vintage translate directly into the glass without a heavy, dominant winemaking hand. The cool, wet 2024 growing season naturally lowered the region's overall yields but ultimately preserved high natural acidity and exquisite balance. Rather than delivering a heavy or overly extracted Chardonnay, Lafon crafts a bottling that perfectly balances Meursault's famous rich body with a vibrant, refreshing, and lifted energy.Tasting Profile- Appearance: Brilliant, light pale-straw yellow with luminous silver accents.
- Aroma: Highly aromatic and precise. It opens with classic aromas of fresh yellow orchard pear, lemon curd, and white peach, elegantly underscored by delicate notes of wild white flowers, crushed gravel, and a signature hint of lightly toasted hazelnut.
- Palate: Fleshy and broad yet sharply detailed. It glides across the tongue with a silky texturing, revealing flavors of juicy citrus oil, green apple, and subtle spice. A crisp mineral spine provides immediate structural tension, keeping the wine's inherent generosity light and energetic.
- Finish: Very long, clean, and persistent, closing on a beautifully woven line of chalky minerality, fine-backed acidity, and a touch of savory hazelnut richness.
Winemaking Details- Minimal Intervention: Hand-harvested fruit is entirely whole-cluster pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts.
- No Batonnage: The wine undergoes “barrel aging with little to no batonnage,” ensuring the palate focuses on precise, driving vineyard purity rather than sweet, creamy oak notes.
Serving & Pairing- Service: Enjoy cool at 10–12°C (50–54°F). Avoid over-chilling so the complex orchard fruit and nutty layers can fully express themselves in the glass.
- Pairing: This style of white Burgundy “flexes with food.” It pairs perfectly with roasted white meats, fresh seafood, stinky cheeses, or pan-seared fish dressed in a rich white sauce
