    Terroir
Sourced from multiple historic parcels across the Hermitage hill in the Northern Rhône, this wine is a masterful blend of lieux-dits including Bessards, Le Méal, and L’Hermite. These sites span a complex mosaic of granite, clay, and limestone soils, each contributing a distinct voice—structure, richness, and minerality respectively. The steep slopes and varied exposures allow for layered ripening, while the Rhône Valley’s continental climate ensures both concentration and freshness. The result is a wine that reflects the full breadth of Hermitage’s terroir.

    Winemaking & Technical Notes
Crafted from 100% Syrah, the wine is vinified parcel by parcel before being blended to achieve balance and completeness. Traditional fermentation methods are employed, often with a portion of whole clusters, followed by extended aging in a mix of large oak foudres and smaller barrels. The approach emphasizes structure, longevity, and terroir expression, with minimal intervention. The final blend is assembled with precision to create a seamless, age-worthy wine.

    Tasting Notes
Deep and complex, the 2023 opens with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and plum layered with notes of violet, black olive, smoked meat, and cracked pepper. Subtle hints of graphite and spice add further depth. The palate is full-bodied yet notably supple for Hermitage, with refined tannins and a core of ripe dark fruit. A mineral backbone and savory undertones carry through to a long, elegant finish. The vintage shows a softer, more approachable profile, with rounded structure and slightly lower acidity compared to more powerful years.

    Food Pairing & Service
A natural partner for rich, savory dishes, this wine pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, beef, game, and braised meats. It also complements earthy preparations such as mushrooms and lentils. Decant for several hours in its youth to allow the aromatics to fully open, and serve slightly below room temperature.

    Cellaring Potential
While more approachable earlier than some vintages, this wine still benefits from extended aging. It will evolve over the next 15–30+ years, developing greater complexity with notes of leather, tobacco, and forest floor. Though accessible sooner, it may not have the same long-term longevity as more structured benchmark vintages.
