The 2024 F.X. Pichler Loibner Burgstall Riesling is an organic, single-vineyard white wine from Austria’s Wachau region. It delivers bright notes of quince, pink grapefruit, white peach, and fresh basil. Crisp and mineral-rich, this medium-bodied dry wine features vibrant, zesty acidity and a long, elegant finish. The "Burgstall" site is a 30-meter high crag of pure gneiss and granite rock. Shallow, sandy topsoils allow for quick drainage and heat retention. These factors give the wine its signature puristic, salty, and flinty minerality. The wine is fermented and aged for five months on fine lees in well-used wooden casks to add texture without oaky flavors.
Nose: Intense white blossoms, wet stone, yellow apple, and citrus zest.
Palate: Sleek and juicy, offering flavors of tropical fruit core (star fruit, pineapple, and mango) balanced by brisk acidity.
