The 2018 La Giaretta "I Quadretti" Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a flagship, full-bodied red. It offers rich, concentrated notes of ripe cherry, dried plum, cocoa, and warm spice. Aged for 3 years in small French oak, it balances massive structure with a juicy, fruit-driven freshness.
Sourced from La Giaretta’s oldest and most prized vineyards in the heart of Valpolicella, this Corvina-blend is crafted only in the finest vintages.
Aging Process: The grapes undergo around 3 years of aging in small French oak (durmast) barrels, followed by 10 to 12 months of bottle refinement
Tasting Notes: It features a deep ruby red color. On the nose, it leads with ripe cherries, Kirsch, and hints of polished leather. The palate is dense and powerful but retains a vibrant, juicy acidity that prevents the high alcohol from becoming overwhelming.
Pairing & Serving: It pairs beautifully with wild game, braised beef, and mature cheeses, and is often enjoyed as a "meditation wine" on its own. It is recommended to decant this wine for several hours prior to drinking and serve at 18°C (64°F).
