    Terroir & Vineyard
This single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from the MorgaenLee Vineyard in Yountville, Napa Valley — one of the oldest Sauvignon Blanc blocks in the region, planted in 1978 on St. George rootstock, and dry-farmed under organic certification. The site is part of the family-owned estate of Ghost Block Winery, on soils and a climate that favour precision, freshness and vineyard-driven character.

Winemaking is thoughtful: multiple picks (three in 2023) across the block at different ripeness levels allow subtle complexity in blending. A portion of the wine receives skin contact or whole-cluster pressing before fermentation, and sur-lie ageing adds texture and depth without sacrificing clarity.

    Tasting Notes

    • Appearance: Pale straw with luminous clarity — youthful, bright and inviting.
    • Nose: Vibrant aromatics of lemon, lime and grapefruit are front and centre, layered with hints of white peach, jasmine blossom and flint/mineral.
    • Palate: Crisp and lively with bright acidity driving a core of green apple, nectarine and subtle honeydew melon. The texture is smooth thanks to sur-lie ageing, and there’s a clean mineral streak and citrus peel thread that lead into a refreshing finish.
    • Finish: Long, clean and precise — the fruit lingers while the minerality and acidity keep the wine lively and balanced.

    Serving & Pairing Suggestions

    • Serving temperature: Chill to about 8-10 °C (46-50 °F) to maintain its vibrant freshness.
    • Pairings:
      • Perfect with fresh oysters on the half-shell or steamed clams with a lemon-herb butter — the citrus and mineral character align beautifully.
      • Lightly grilled white fish (sea bass, halibut) with a beurre blanc or citrus-dill sauce.
      • Goat cheese crostini or a fresh herb-salad with citrus vinaigrette — the wine’s acidity will complement and refresh the dish.
      • For something slightly richer: lemon-herb roasted chicken with green beans or asparagus — the wine’s texture and flavour will stand up nicely without being overpowering.

    Drinking Window & Approach
This wine is ready to enjoy now, thanks to its freshness and balance, but its structure and vineyard pedigree mean it can evolve gracefully over the next 3-5 years if stored well. Customers can feel comfortable opening it now or placing a couple aside for short-term cellaring.
