GREAT SUMMER SAVINGS

Countdown has ended

    Terroir & Vineyard
Located across California’s cool-climate North Coast (notably Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino and Marin), Schramsberg draws from a wide array of vineyard lots selected specifically for sparkling production. The 2022 growing season was marked by warm, drought-influenced conditions and an accelerated harvest — as a result yields were lower and fruit more concentrated, yet Schramsberg’s choice of cooler sites ensured the wine retained freshness and precision.

    Winemaking & Craftsmanship
This Blanc de Blancs is made 100% from Chardonnay grapes, in the traditional method (second fermentation in bottle). A portion of the base wines are barrel-fermented (adding texture and complexity) before blending with stainless-steel lots, and the wine ages on its lees for about two years prior to disgorgement — a key factor in achieving fine mousse and autolytic complexity. The result is a sparkling wine that marries vibrant fruit with refined structure.

    Tasting Notes

Appearance: Pale straw to light gold in the glass with very fine, persistent bead.

Aroma: Lifted aromas of green apple, apple tart, lemon-lime zest, tangerine and subtle brioche or baked bread notes.

Palate: Crisp and lively from the outset — flavours of golden apple, white peach, fresh grapefruit and Meyer lemon with hints of vanilla chiffon and gentle ginger spice. There’s a refined mineral thread underpinning the wine that gives it drive and focus rather than simply richness.

Finish: Long, clean and satisfying — the acidity remains lively, the bubbles fine, and the finish leaves a crisp impression of citrus and subtle minerality.

    Food Pairing & Serving Suggestions

    • Serving temperature: Chill to about 8-10 °C (46-50 °F). Use a tulip-style sparkling glass to allow the aromatics and fine mousse to shine.
    • Food pairings:
      • Fresh oysters, crab cakes, ceviche or grilled sea bass.
      • Lightly seasoned white fish with lemon-herb butter.
      • Soft cheeses (triple-cream Brie) or gently matured hard cheeses (aged Gouda).
      • For something more adventurous: Thai green curry or lemon-chicken dishes — the wine's acidity and fine bubbles will cut through richness.
    • Drinking window: Ready to enjoy now, and with its structure and acidity, it should develop more nuance over the next 4-8 years if stored well.
