    Terroir
Mumm Napa’s Sparkling Brut Rosé draws fruit from cooler vineyard sites throughout Napa Valley, particularly areas influenced by the marine breezes and morning fog rolling in from San Pablo Bay. These coastal effects moderate the region’s warm Mediterranean climate, allowing grapes to ripen slowly while retaining the vibrant acidity essential for traditional-method sparkling wine.

Pinot Noir forms the backbone of the blend and thrives in these cooler zones, developing expressive red fruit character while maintaining structural freshness. Chardonnay contributes lift and precision, helping shape the wine’s balance and finesse. The combination of Napa Valley sunshine, cool nights, and extended ripening produces grapes that deliver both aromatic intensity and natural brightness—ideal for a vibrant rosé sparkling wine.

    Winemaking & Technical Notes
Mumm Napa Sparkling Brut Rosé is produced using the méthode traditionnelle, the same technique used in Champagne. After harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented separately to create base wines that preserve varietal purity and freshness. Pinot Noir dominates the blend, with Chardonnay providing structural balance and aromatic lift.

A small portion of still Pinot Noir is included in the blend to provide the wine’s delicate salmon-pink hue as well as subtle phenolic depth. Following blending, the wine undergoes secondary fermentation in bottle, where it develops its signature fine mousse. The wine is aged on its lees for an extended period, allowing autolytic character—notes of brioche, toasted almond, and pastry—to emerge while enhancing texture and complexity.

After riddling and disgorgement, a modest dosage is added to harmonize the wine’s bright acidity with its fruit expression, resulting in a balanced and lively Brut-style rosé.

    Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine displays a luminous coral-pink color with a steady stream of fine, energetic bubbles. The aromatics are bright and inviting, opening with fresh strawberry, raspberry, and red cherry layered alongside hints of citrus zest and delicate rose petal. As the wine evolves in the glass, subtle notes of toasted brioche and almond emerge from its time on the lees.

On the palate, the wine is crisp and refreshing with lively acidity and a smooth, creamy mousse. Red berry flavors dominate the entry—wild strawberry, cranberry, and red currant—while subtle citrus tones add brightness and lift. The texture is light yet polished, with a gentle mineral edge that keeps the wine focused and balanced.

The overall impression is vibrant and elegant, delivering the refreshing character expected from a well-crafted Napa Valley sparkling rosé while retaining enough depth to keep the palate engaged.

    Food Pairing & Service
Mumm Sparkling Brut Rosé is a versatile companion for a wide range of dishes. Its bright acidity and lively bubbles make it a natural pairing for smoked salmon, tuna tartare, sushi, or shellfish. The wine also complements roasted poultry, duck with berry sauces, or charcuterie boards featuring cured meats and soft cheeses.

For more casual fare, it pairs beautifully with fried chicken, tempura, or lightly spiced Asian cuisine, where the effervescence cuts through richness and refreshes the palate. Serve well chilled, around 45–50°F (7–10°C), in a tulip-shaped sparkling wine glass to highlight both aromatics and mousse texture.

    Cellaring Potential
Mumm Sparkling Brut Rosé is crafted to be enjoyed while young, when its fresh fruit and vibrant mousse are most expressive. However, thanks to its balanced acidity and traditional-method production, it can develop additional nuance with short-term aging.

When stored properly in a cool, dark cellar, the wine can evolve for approximately 3–5 years. During this time, the bright berry fruit may soften and secondary notes of brioche, toasted nuts, and honeyed citrus may become more pronounced. While best appreciated for its youthful brightness, modest bottle age can add subtle complexity and textural refinement.
