    Terroir
Sourced from the estate’s vineyards in Bolgheri along Tuscany’s Tyrrhenian coast, Le Serre Nuove reflects a unique interplay of maritime influence and diverse soils. The vineyards benefit from cooling sea breezes that preserve freshness and aromatic lift, while a mix of alluvial, clay, and sandy soils contributes to both structure and finesse. This balance of warmth and ventilation allows for optimal ripening, producing grapes with richness, complexity, and vibrant acidity.

    Winemaking & Technical Notes
Le Serre Nuove is crafted from a classic Bordeaux-inspired blend—typically Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Each variety is vinified separately to preserve its character. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures, followed by malolactic fermentation.

The wine is aged for approximately 12–15 months in French oak barrels (a portion new, the rest previously used for Ornellaia), then blended and returned to barrel for further integration before bottling. This thoughtful approach enhances depth and polish while maintaining freshness and varietal expression.

    Tasting Notes
The 2023 vintage presents a brilliant ruby hue with youthful vibrancy. The nose is expressive and layered, revealing aromas of ripe red berries, black cherries, and plum, interwoven with notes of violet, Mediterranean herbs, cedar, and sweet spice.

On the palate, the wine is supple and refined, with silky tannins and a lively backbone of acidity. Flavors of dark fruit, cocoa, and subtle toasted oak unfold seamlessly, leading to a long, harmonious finish marked by elegance and precision.

    Food Pairing & Service

A versatile and food-friendly wine, Le Serre Nuove pairs beautifully with:

    • Grilled or roasted meats, including beef, lamb, and game
    • Pasta with rich tomato or meat-based sauces
    • Hard and semi-aged cheeses
    • Herb-driven Mediterranean dishes

Serve at 60–65°F (16–18°C). Decant for 30–60 minutes prior to serving to allow the wine to open fully and reveal its aromatic complexity.

    Cellaring Potential
While already approachable in its youth, the 2023 Le Serre Nuove possesses the structure and balance to evolve gracefully over time. It can be enjoyed now for its vibrant fruit and polished texture or cellared for 8–12 years, during which it will develop greater complexity, tertiary notes, and added depth.

Elegant, expressive, and unmistakably Tuscan, the 2023 Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia is a compelling choice for both immediate enjoyment and thoughtful cellaring.
