    93pts Wine Spectator
"Supple in texture and laced with black currant and black cherry fruit, this red is polished and approachable. Light herbal, graphite and tobacco accents add detail as this cruises to a firm conclusion. Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2028. 1,833 cases imported." - Bruce Sanderson

    93pts The Wine Advocate
"Of the Ca' Marcanda estate's two headline red wines, this bottle is released earlier. The 2022 Bolgheri Rosso Magari is a blend of 60% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot. It shows lovely richness and a soft texture with a more accessible overall personality. That immediacy is reinforced in a hot vintage such as this. There are hints of interesting spiciness with laurel leaf, curry and dried blackcurrant. Indeed, the fruit starts to show some evolution." - Monica Larner

    Terroir
From the coastal Bolgheri zone in Tuscany, this wine reflects a warm Mediterranean climate moderated by sea breezes from the Tyrrhenian coast. The vineyards are planted on a mix of clay-rich and calcareous soils, which retain moisture while promoting balanced ripening. This interplay of warmth and cooling influence allows Bordeaux varieties to achieve full phenolic maturity while maintaining freshness and structure, giving the wine both richness and lift.

    Winemaking & Technical Notes
A classic Bolgheri blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot, each variety is fermented separately to preserve its identity. The wine undergoes controlled fermentation in stainless steel followed by aging for roughly 12 months in mostly used French oak, allowing for integration without excessive oak influence. The final blend is assembled prior to bottling, emphasizing balance, texture, and approachability.

    Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in the glass, “Magari” opens with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and plum layered with graphite, Mediterranean herbs, and subtle spice. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with silky, polished tannins and a core of dark fruit supported by fresh acidity. Notes of cedar, tobacco, and mineral nuances carry through to a long, elegant finish that balances richness with finesse.

    Food Pairing & Service
A versatile and refined red, this wine pairs beautifully with grilled meats, roasted lamb, and hearty pasta dishes. It also complements aged cheeses and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine featuring herbs and olive oil. Decant for about an hour prior to serving and enjoy slightly below room temperature to highlight its aromatic complexity and structure.

    Cellaring Potential
While approachable in its youth, “Magari” has the structure to evolve over the next 8–12 years. With time, its vibrant fruit will develop into more savory, earthy tones with increased complexity, while maintaining its hallmark balance and elegance.
