    95pts Falstaff
Dark, deep ruby red colour with a core. The nose opens delicately and discreetly with black cherry, sugared notes, later clearly blood orange, very elegant. The palate opens wide, emphasising the fruit, with a strong palate drive, striking and clear. Very well integrated tannins guarantee a good drinking flow. Retronasal mocha and cocoa flavours. Long-lasting finish with a fine tannin structure.

    Terroir
Nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany, the vineyards of Castello di Querceto benefit from elevated sites with excellent sun exposure and cooling breezes. The soils, composed primarily of limestone, clay, and galestro, provide ideal conditions for cultivating Sangiovese and complementary varieties. This terroir contributes to the wine’s bright acidity, aromatic intensity, and balanced structure.

    Winemaking & Technical Notes
The 2023 Rosso Toscana IGT is typically based on Sangiovese, often blended with small amounts of international varieties such as Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon to enhance roundness and depth. Grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and varietal purity.

A short period of aging—primarily in stainless steel or neutral vessels, with minimal oak influence—allows the wine’s vibrant fruit character to shine while maintaining a clean, approachable profile.

    Tasting Notes
Bright ruby-red in color, this wine opens with inviting aromas of fresh cherries, red currants, and wild berries, complemented by subtle floral notes and a hint of spice.

On the palate, it is lively and medium-bodied, with crisp acidity and soft tannins framing flavors of juicy red fruit and a touch of earthiness. The finish is clean, refreshing, and pleasantly persistent, making it an easy-drinking yet characterful expression of Tuscany.

    Food Pairing & Service
A versatile everyday wine that pairs effortlessly with a wide range of dishes:

    • Classic Italian fare such as pasta with tomato-based sauces and pizza
    • Grilled vegetables and antipasti
    • Roasted chicken or pork
    • Mild cheeses and charcuterie

Serve slightly cool at 58–62°F (14–16°C). Decanting is optional but can help enhance aromatic expression.

    Cellaring Potential
Designed for early enjoyment, the 2023 Rosso Toscana IGT is best enjoyed within 3–5 years of the vintage. While it may develop some additional nuance with short-term aging, its primary appeal lies in its freshness, vibrancy, and youthful fruit character.

Bright, food-friendly, and unmistakably Tuscan, the 2023 Castello di Querceto Rosso Toscana IGT is a perfect choice for casual gatherings and everyday enjoyment.
