    Terroir
Sourced from extremely old, low-yielding vineyards in Jumilla in southeastern Spain, El Nido reflects one of the region’s most intense and concentrated terroirs. The vineyards are planted on rocky, limestone-rich soils under a dry Mediterranean climate with hot days and cool nights. These harsh growing conditions naturally limit yields and produce fruit with extraordinary concentration, structure, and depth. Old-vine Monastrell thrives here, developing both power and surprising freshness.

    Winemaking & Technical Notes
Produced from a blend dominated by old-vine Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon, El Nido is crafted with a focus on maximum concentration and age-worthiness. The fruit is hand-harvested from tiny yields, fermented in small vats, and aged extensively in new French oak barrels. Extraction and élevage are carefully managed to build richness and texture while preserving balance. The result is a wine of monumental scale, designed to rival the world’s most powerful luxury reds.

    Tasting Notes
Nearly opaque in the glass, the 2023 opens with explosive aromas of blackberry liqueur, cassis, black plum, and blueberry layered with espresso, dark chocolate, vanilla bean, and exotic spice. The palate is massive yet remarkably polished, delivering dense black fruit, velvety tannins, and immense concentration. Notes of graphite, licorice, cedar, mocha, and smoked herbs unfold across the palate, leading to an extraordinarily long, layered finish marked by power, richness, and persistence.

    Food Pairing & Service
This wine demands equally bold cuisine, pairing beautifully with dry-aged steak, braised beef, lamb shank, and game dishes. It also complements intensely flavored hard cheeses and smoky preparations. Decant for several hours in its youth to allow the wine’s structure and aromatics to fully develop, and serve slightly below room temperature.

    Cellaring Potential
Built for long-term aging, El Nido will evolve gracefully over the next 15–25+ years. With time, its massive fruit and oak profile will integrate into deeper layers of leather, tobacco, truffle, and savory complexity while maintaining its formidable structure and richness.
