Terroir
Sourced from vineyards in Ladoix at the northern edge of the Côte de Beaune, this Chardonnay comes from a village often overlooked despite its proximity to some of Burgundy’s most celebrated sites. Limestone-rich soils and favorable hillside exposures provide the foundation for wines that combine freshness, mineral character, and surprising depth. The cooler conditions of the appellation help preserve acidity, producing white Burgundies with precision and balance.Winemaking & Technical Notes
Crafted in a traditional Burgundian style, the fruit is carefully harvested and fermented with an emphasis on preserving purity and terroir expression. Aging in French oak barrels adds texture and complexity while allowing the vineyard character to remain at the forefront. The approach favors elegance and structure over overt richness, resulting in a Chardonnay that reflects both its variety and its origin.Tasting Notes
Pale gold in the glass, the 2021 opens with aromas of lemon zest, green apple, pear, and white flowers layered with subtle notes of hazelnut, fresh cream, and wet stone. The palate is vibrant and focused, offering citrus and orchard fruit supported by bright acidity and a chalky mineral backbone. Hints of almond and brioche emerge through the mid-palate, leading to a clean, persistent finish marked by freshness and finesse.Food Pairing & Service
A classic white Burgundy for the table, this wine pairs beautifully with roast chicken, grilled fish, shellfish, creamy pasta dishes, and soft-ripened cheeses. Its balance of richness and acidity also makes it an excellent companion to poultry with cream sauces and lighter seafood preparations. Serve lightly chilled to highlight its texture and mineral detail.Cellaring Potential
While already showing beautifully today, this Ladoix Blanc will continue to develop over the next 5–8 years. With age, its bright fruit and mineral profile will evolve toward more complex notes of honey, toasted nuts, and savory Burgundy character while retaining its freshness and balance. Name:
