    Terroir
The Jaune d’Arles Greco di Tufo comes from the hillsides of Tufo in Avellino, one of Campania’s most historic and mineral-driven white wine zones. Vineyards sit between 450 and 600 meters above sea level, where steep slopes, intense sun exposure, and cool nighttime temperatures create a naturally high-acid, slow-ripening environment. The defining feature of this terroir is its sulfur- and tuff-rich volcanic soils, formed from ancient ash and pyroclastic deposits. These soils imprint Greco with its unmistakable saline tension, flinty minerality, and firm structural backbone. The 2023 vintage was characterized by a warm but even growing season, with excellent diurnal shifts that preserved freshness, giving wines with ripeness, aromatic purity, and exceptional clarity.

    Winemaking & Technical Notes
At Quintodecimo, Professor Luigi Moio approaches Greco with meticulous precision. The grapes are hand-harvested at optimal phenolic ripeness, then sorted berry by berry to ensure only pristine fruit. Fermentation occurs in a combination of temperature-controlled stainless steel and lightly toasted French oak barrels, balancing freshness with textural depth. A portion of the wine undergoes extended lees contact with periodic bâtonnage, enhancing creaminess and mid-palate richness without muting the mineral line. No malolactic fermentation is employed, preserving Greco’s naturally vibrant acidity. Aged for several months before bottling, Jaune d’Arles emerges as a powerful, structured, age-worthy white, built with the precision that defines Quintodecimo’s entire philosophy.

    Tasting Notes
The 2023 Jaune d’Arles opens with vivid, layered aromatics: ripe apricot, yellow peach, Meyer lemon, quince, and almond blossom, all underlined by a subtle smokiness and a distinctive volcanic, stony edge. On the palate, the wine is dense yet vertical, offering both richness and laser-like definition. Flavors of golden apple, citrus oil, pear skin, and hazelnut are framed by a firm structural core—Greco’s calling card. As it expands, more savory notes emerge: crushed rock, chamomile, fennel seed, and sea-salt minerality. The finish is long, tactile, and architectural, with a persistent echo of salinity, citrus pith, and warm stone. This is a wine that combines Mediterranean generosity with alpine freshness, a rare tension that only top-tier Greco achieves.

    Food Pairing & Service
Serve at 50–54 °F (10–12 °C) in a medium-sized white Burgundy glass to capture both its aromatics and its structural depth. No decanting is required, but allowing the wine a few minutes in the glass will reveal added complexity. Ideal food pairings include grilled branzino, seared scallops, clams with saffron and white wine, or lobster with lemon-herb butter. Its weight and acidity also make it excellent with veal scaloppine, porchetta, or white truffle pasta, especially when dishes lean into savory or earthy components. A classic regional pairing would be spaghetti alle vongole. Drink now for vibrancy, but it will age beautifully through 2032, gaining honeyed depth and additional smokiness.
