    Terroir
The estate of Bernard Gaucher is located in the village of Arconville in the Côte des Bar (Aube) region of Champagne. The vineyards are planted on clay-limestone soils characteristic of the southern Champagne hills, a terroir that often yields riper fruit with chalky, mineral undertones. The region’s elevation and hidden calcareous pockets imbue the wines with clarity, cooling night-air influence, and a sense of place distinct from the northern vineyards of Champagne.

    Winemaking & Technical Notes
This rosé is a non-vintage 100% Pinot Noir. The style is achieved via saignée (skin contact) from the Pinot Noir, giving the wine its vivid salmon-pink color and fresh red-berry fruit. The wine undergoes maturation – in past batches cellaring under lees and partial malolactic fermentation were noted – and is disgorged after at least two years on lees. The dosage is modest and adapted to each vintage, helping preserve the wine’s freshness and minerality.

    Tasting Notes
In the glass, the Gaucher Brut Rosé presents a soft salmon-pink hue with fine and lively bubbles. On the nose, it offers aromatic layers of wild strawberry, raspberry, hibiscus, rose-petal and subtle citrus zest. The palate is crisp and precise: bright red-berry fruit (strawberry, red currant) is underpinned by chalky minerality, a saline hint, citrus undertones and a clean, dry finish. The texture is satisfying but not heavy, and the wine delivers elegance with joyous vibrancy.

    Food Pairing & Service
Serve chilled to about 10–11 °C (50–52 °F) in a tulip-style Champagne glass to invite the aromatics to open. This Champagne’s fresh acidity and mineral backbone make it a superb match for seafood: think salmon with citrus glaze, crab with garlic butter, or shrimp ceviche. It will also stand beautifully alongside lightly-spiced poultry or Mediterranean dishes such as herb-roasted chicken with lemon-thyme or grilled lamb chops with a red-berry jus. For cheese, consider a mild goat cheese or young Comté—something fresh yet with presence. The wine is versatile enough to shine both as an aperitif and alongside a full meal.
