The bouquet is clear, precise and fresh on the nose, offering cherry as well as floral and some tropical fruit aromas. Elegant and highly refined on the palate, this is a dense and finely tannic yet light to medium-bodied, finely textured and savory as well as long-finishing wine with delicate, spicy tannins and definitely a Pinot character. In fact, it is a Gewurztraminer (at least 80%), and these flavors come out only on the aftertaste and only if you know it is one. This is a serious and even complex, persistent and stimulating wine that is officially a rosé but sold as a red wine at the domaine. 13.5% stated alcohol. Glass stopper. Tasted at the Domaine Deiss in November 2024.

92pts Vinous Media
The 2023 Rien ne Bouge is a mind-bender of a wine. It is a blend of Gewurztraminer, added as whole bunches to already fermented and drained Pinot Noir skins. The nose offers gentle red fruit and slightly peppery, crunchy phenolics that lend tender structure to the midpalate. The finish is fresh, the body is light and this is animating and appetizing. Not in a million years would you think this is Gewurztraminer. It is so fresh, structured, bright and, above all, delicious."

Terroir
Produced in the heart of Alsace, Vignoble du Rêveur farms biodynamically on soils composed primarily of gravel, sand, and alluvial deposits left by the Rhine River. These lighter, well-draining soils encourage aromatic precision and natural vibrancy, particularly suited to the expressive, skin-contact whites for which the estate has become known.

Alsace’s semi-continental climate provides warm, sunny days tempered by cool nights descending from the Vosges Mountains. The 2023 growing season delivered healthy fruit with excellent aromatic intensity and balanced acidity, ideal for the estate’s low-intervention philosophy.

Winemaking & Technical Notes
“Rien Ne Bouge” (“Nothing Moves”) reflects the domaine’s commitment to minimal intervention. The wine is typically composed of organically and biodynamically farmed varieties common to Alsace, 70% Gewurztraminer, 20% Pinot Noir, and 10% Pinot Blanc.

Fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. The wine undergoes skin contact, contributing texture, phenolic structure, and subtle tannic grip. Aging takes place in neutral vessels—often large oak foudres or tank—without fining or filtration. Sulfur additions are minimal, allowing the wine’s natural character to remain unadorned.

The result is a wine that emphasizes purity, texture, and terroir transparency over polish.

Tasting Notes
The 2023 presents a luminous golden hue with slight amber reflections from skin maceration. Aromatically, it is vibrant and complex: orange peel, apricot, and white peach mingle with ginger, dried herbs, and floral undertones.
